July 20th-July 22 and September 2

Well I went to a funeral on the 20th of July. It really wasn't that bad. The service was VERY uplifting. I went to a service last year when my friend's mother pasted and now this one. Difference, one is white the other is black? Maybe?? But the "black" service had more uplifting music and the pastor of the church they went to was there giving the eulogy. I don't want to say it's the difference of the race, but I've got to say that all of the "white" funerals that I went to were very depressing. Not to say that no one cried last Thursday, because EVERYONE in the whole building was crying... I don't know. When I go, I want to have a CELEBRATION OF LIFE. A party so no one is just sitting there crying all day. I know I will be missed as all of my family members will when it's time. But to have lively music, food, and if it's during the summer, the kids can have water balloons.... something where everyone is enjoying themselves. I'm not dead, as the pastor during the service said, I'm just not in the house that I was here on Earth in.

On a happier note. During all of the talking and catching up G's sister asked me to ask him if we can have the Labor Day BBQ at our house. SO, I turned around and said: Babe, we're having Labor Day BBQ at our house. He just looked at me and then his sister and smiled. So, more than likely it will be on September 2. He has a HUGE family. Over the weekend he said he was going to call her and tell her no, that he doesn't want all of the people in his house. He's so funny. Then he said, no my sister never asks for anything. So, I've already started making a list of things to get. I figure I'll buy some of the things this weekend so it's not a huge bill at the last weekend. Plus I need to buy bins to put the ice and drinks into. And we don't have enough lawn chairs for everyone.

He had to work on Friday, my B-day. So we ended up going out on Saturday for dinner. It was nice. We went to OUTBACK. I don't know if I wrote on the TAG BOARD or what, but he got me a pair of diamond earrings and an Omega necklace. He's so good to me.
