IT'S COLD!!!

It's been really cold here in the high desert. I'm surprised that I still have roses on my rose bushes. They're not as big as they usually are, look a little sickly if you ask me. But they are there. We give our dogs water in one of those kiddy pools and every morning he has to go out and break the 1" layer of ice so the dogs will have water for the day. Poor things, it's not like they can grab a rock or something and break through during the night. But at least when we go to bed it's broken up and in the morning when we leave they have fresh water.
In the house we have an indoor/outdoor thermometer. It will be 51 in the house and outside it will read HHH. Which means the monitor outside is frozen. My indoor plants aren't doing so well either. I can't leave the heater on, because it draws from our propane. And for what? So my plants stay perky? Yeah ok.
I'm not sick because of the cold air in the house. I'm actually getting use to the cold weather. I do however have really bad chapped lips. When the winds were here in October I got chapped lips really bad. So bad that the sides of my mouth got chapped. So now it's going on 3 months and it's still that way. I went to the doctors about it and he told me that it's from salva. WHAT!! I drool in my sleep. Whatever! So I've been putting Medicated Blistex on. It's been getting better since then. Hopefully it'll get better by July.
Anyways, it's cold!!
