The Holidays

This is the time of year that I start to get excited. Unfortunatly because I got married I don't have the funds to do what I usually get to do. But at work we are starting up an Employee Committee that will set up activities for the staff and that's something that I liked doing last year. We had a potluck for Halloween that turned out great as well as a Christmas Party and then anothe potluck, Secret Santa, and tree trimming event. It went great. Well the office has gotten really busy and we haven't been doing anything. Last month we did a bowling event for Staff Appeciation day. Everyone in the office was talking crap even me. But everyone that went had a GREAT time, even me. So one of the ladies here and myself was talking about why haven't we done anything for the Employee Committee? She was wondering the same thing. So tomorrow we are having our first meeting of the year to discuss what we want to do. It's kind of already planned out for the rest of the year, but we're doing a potluck on Halloween, we're going to see if we can dress up. Then we're going to do a pumpkin carving contest, where you carve the pumpkin at home with your kids or by yourself and bring it in. If we get to dress up we're thinking of a costume contest. Then for Thanksgiving we were thinking of perhaps a pie contect. That's going to be a lot of pies, but what ever is not eaten can be taken home so that should be good. Then for Christmas we're going to do the same thing we did last year. This year I think I want to take some pictures and post them so everyone can see, then next year perhaps use those photos as posters.
For home I've painted 2 wooden names for my nieces. One is princess and the other is goddess I think. Then I started a Santa and animals that I plan to give one of my sisters and then I start another one for the other. I like painting but when I can't go out and buy gifts like I do it sucks. I also have a blanket that I need to finish. I have a few squares done, but I need to put them together. Then I have to think about what I'm going to do for my cousin who's girlfriend is having a baby.
Just a lot of things. I can't wait til this housing market gets straighten out. Then perhaps I can advertise for drafting additions for home owners. I figured I could make a lot of money on the side. I'm listed on Superpages.com, so as long as they put in my town I'm ok. When I get some extra cash I think I'll make it for San Bernardino County. Then I should get more calls. I have a friend that does nails that said she has a couple of clients that husbands are contractors and are looking for someone to draw plans for them. So once my business cards come in then I'll give her some to pass out for me. I need to see what I need to do in regards to setting up a business. But all that in time.
I saw my new niece last weekend at a baby shower I went to. She's getting soooo big. She crawls, sits up, and pulls herself up. And she's only 5 months old. I was amazed at the things that she could do, but because she's so big if you didn't know how old she was then you would expect it. But, she's like her mom. Her mom is like 5'10" - 5'11". She'll be tall.
Well my post is getting really long and all I wanted to talk about was the holidays. Well see ya.
